Business Technology Wall of Fame
Jane Moore, Business Technology teacher at Rome City Schools College and Career Academy, posts the Microsoft Office certificates earned by her students on the wall in her classroom. Nearly all of those on the “Wall of Fame” have passed the tests for Word 2019 or both Word 2019 and PowerPoint 2019. All of her students prepare for their Office certification tests by practicing in the software and using GMetrix (practice test platform). They take the certification test in CERTIPORT (the Office certification platform). A majority of these students are Dual Enrollment students in the Business Technology program. All of them should receive two certificates—Microsoft Word Application Professional and Administrative Support Assistant—from GNTC when they graduate their senior year. Moore said last year was her first large graduating class with a total of 11 students who graduated from GNTC and Rome High School. She said she is proud of all their hard work and knows that they are going to accomplish great things in their futures.
