The Georgia Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) is hosting a Georgia State Agency Career Fair on Thursday, Nov. 14, at Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s (GTNC) Floyd County Campus in Rome.
This free event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Conference Center in Building H. The Career Fair is exclusively for State of Georgia government agencies to connect with current GNTC students and graduates, as well as community members from northwest Georgia, who seek to launch or advance their careers.
“We are excited to host this event which will offer our students, graduates and community members the opportunity to explore rewarding careers with State of Georgia agencies,” said Matt Bryant, director of Enrollment Services at GNTC. “Events like these play an important role in shaping our state’s workforce, helping to identify and prepare future leaders and ensure a strong transition as new generations step into key roles.”
Participating agencies are Cobb and Douglas Public Health, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Georgia DOAS, Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), Georgia Department of Corrections, Georgia Department of Human Services, Georgia Department of Public Safety, Technical College System of Georgia and Team Georgia Careers.
“This event promises to be a dynamic platform where participating Georgia State agencies can showcase their career opportunities, network with potential candidates and engage in meaningful discussions about industry trends and skills in demand,” said Kristy McClendon, Recruiting and Retention Unit manager at DOAS.
The event is a prime setting for ambitious individuals to connect with public sector employers who may be seeking to fill internships, entry-level positions or experienced roles, McClendon said.
