Culinary Arts Program Overview
The Culinary Arts Degree program is a sequence of courses that prepares students for the culinary profession. Learning opportunities develop academic, occupational, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes a combination of culinary theory and practical application necessary for successful employment. Program graduates receive a Culinary Arts Degree. Graduates who are current practitioners will benefit through the enhancement of career potential. Entry-level persons will be prepared to pursue diverse opportunities in the culinary field as cooks, bakers, or caterers/culinary managers.
Culinary Arts Mission Statement
The Culinary Arts program's mission at Georgia Northwestern Technical College is to promote student success by providing culinary education and training with an emphasis on culinary theory and practical application. Excellence, leadership, professionalism, and work ethics are the core values that guide our efforts. Graduate students will possess the experience and knowledge that will lead to job acquisition, retention, and advancement in the food service industry.
