CLEP Tests
Credit may be awarded for successful completion of an appropriate CLEP (College Level Examination Program) subject area examination. Scores are required for credit to be awarded. Credit will not be awarded based on a high school or college transcript. For CLEP scores, visit the College Board to request official scores to be sent to GNTC.
Credit by Examination/Exemption Tests
If circumstantial evidence, such as experiential learning, indicates the probability of special technical aptitude or knowledge on the part of the petitioning student, a written, oral, and/or performance examination can be given. Please see the GNTC catalog for more details.
Transfer Evaluations
GNTC may accept transfer credits from regionally or nationally accredited colleges. A grade of “C” or better is required for the credit to transfer. Transfer credit is given only for courses with equivalents at GNTC. To receive transfer credit, the student must have official copies of all college transcripts sent to the admissions office. Full credit will be awarded for courses, subject to GNTC assuring that accreditation requirements are met.
When a transfer student is fully accepted to GNTC, the Office of Admissions notifies the Office of the Registrar that a transcript has been received. Transcripts are evaluated in the order they are received from the Office of Admissions and are completed within two weeks. Once the transfer credit is completed, the awarded credit can be viewed on the student’s MyGNTC transcript.
