Youth Success Academy
The Youth Success Academy is specifically designed for out-of-school youth who wish to attain a GED® and technical education. The participants in the program will be involved in: GED® Preparation, Job Readiness, Workshops, and Leadership Activities.
The WIOA Youth Success Academy is sponsored through a partnership with GNTC and Northwest Georgia Regional Development Center. Those who are eligible may apply for travel and childcare stipends. Referrals may come through any number of sources, including self-referral.

Programs Offered
GED®
- Ages 16-24
- Classroom instruction and support by dedicated professionals
- Full payment of GED® testing ($184.00)
- College and Career Counseling
- A check for coming to class (for transportation & childcare costs)
- Leadership and Survival Skills
ITA (Individual Training Account) – helps with college expenses
- Ages 18-24 First-time college student
- Tuition paid for the student (the amount HOPE does not cover)
- Get paid to go to college (transportation and child care costs)
- Books and supplies purchased for the student
- Major must be in an approved demand occupation
- Leadership and Job Readiness
Work Experience
- Ages 18-24 Out of School Youth
- Gain Work Experience
- Learn Fundamental Work Ethics
- Develop Communication and Teamwork Skills
- Get paid $9.00/hour
- Work up to 40 hours/per week
- Work in the Work Experience Program for 450 hours
- This may lead to potential employment
- Leadership and Job Readiness
Short Term Training
- Ages 18-24
- Tuition costs paid by YSA
- Get paid to go to college (transportation & child care costs)
- Books and supplies purchased for the student
- The training program must be approved by the YSA
- Leadership and Job Readiness
